Measurement should feel optional in a serious way
The banner is a fork in the path, not a shakedown. Both paths are valid.
If you allow optional tools, the journal wants to see whether long essays are finished or abandoned halfway—aggregate patterns, not individuals. If you decline, the words must remain dignified, not a maze. If a script fails, the reading must still be possible, because a broken consent wall is a broken publication.
